The Kent Tigers Basketball Club, renowned for its success in local leagues and commitment to the community, has announced its relaunch scheduled for 8th January 2024.

This relaunch is not just a return to the court;  it represents a significant expansion of their youth development program, aiming to foster an elite basketball academy in Dartford and surrounding areas. 

New Beginnings at Leigh Academy 

The relaunch will take place at Leigh Academy, Dartford, where sessions for children as young as 3 years old, in partnership with Little Hoopers, will be introduced.

The program extends to senior men’s and women’s teams, offering opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to develop and compete. 

A Message from the General Manager 

Sten Mayunga, General Manager of Kent Tigers, expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re incredibly excited to relaunch Kent Tigers and especially our new youth development sessions. Our goal is to cultivate an elite basketball academy that nurtures young talent right here in Dartford.”

“This initiative is more than basketball; it’s about enriching our community and offering a platform for the youth to excel both on and off the court.” 

Kent Tigers: A Legacy of Success and Community Engagement 

As the reigning Division 1 and Division 2 champions in the local senior men’s league and  U14 and U16 youth league champions in the 2022/23 season, Kent Tigers has a storied history of success.

Awarded the Basketball England South East Community Club of the Year in 2022, the club’s involvement with local schools and partnerships, including  coaching the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams at the Universities at Medway, showcases their commitment to community development.
