Kent Cricket have this lunchtime announced its official team name going forward in the Men’s Metro Bank One Day Cup as Kent Men.

In the tradition of the Club’s One Day Cup wins in 1967 & 1974, as well as its List A National League titles & B&H Cup wins in the 1970s, Kent Men will be returning the White Horse of Kent to its one-day identity from 2026 onwards.
Kent Spitfires remains the official name of our Men’s first team in the Vitality Blast, proudly supported by our Kent Spitfires Major Partner, Shepherd Neame.
‘The Spitfires’ will now also become the official nickname of Kent’s Men’s first team across all formats, honouring the tradition that the Kent Spitfires have built since the introduction of official team nicknames back in 1999.
The change of brand identity further aligns Kent Cricket’s Men’s & Women’s teams under one name in the Metro Bank One Day Cup. The Spitfires will once again be competing across all three domestic formats in 2026.
Tickets for all scheduled Kent Men’s & Women’s home matches for 2026 will go on sale next week.
Kent Cricket’s CEO, Michael Wilshaw, said: “Together, we’re excited by the opportunity to align our Men’s & Women’s teams more in the Metro Bank One Day Cup – Kent has a big tradition in this format, with 19 trophies across Men’s & Women’s List A cricket under the Kent Cricket brand so far in our rich history.
“We’re looking forward to playing under one name in both one-day and first-class cricket in 2026, with our Vitality Blast name remaining as Kent Spitfires.”
