Kent Kings set for summer sizzler
Kent Kings set for summer sizzler

At last the promised heatwave is with us (for one day at least!) and the temperatures will be rising at sizzling Central Park this evening as the Kent TouchTec Kings take on Scunthorpe Scorpions in a must-win match for the hosts.

There’s very good news coming from up north where in Middlesbrough, the Redcar Speedway management have managed to secure the return of Ryan Kinsley’s stolen bikes (though not yet his other equipment) following an anonymous tip off.

In terms of the business in hand this evening, the visitors from North Lincs have a late change.  Their heat leader Thomas Jørgensen has a racing commitment he has to keep in his native Scandinavia in the Swedish League and so the visitors will shift from using R/R for injured Jordan Palin and instead use that facility for the Dane.  Coming in as a ‘Guest’ for Palin will be one of the stars of proceedings last week when he came with his side Birmingham, former Kings’ rider, Jack Thomas.

Updated team news [in alphabetical order]:
Kent TouchTec Kings

Troy Batchelor; Dan Gilkes; Cameron Heeps; Ben Morley; Jake Mulford; Scott Nicholls; Paul Starke

Scunthorpe Scorpions

Adam Ellis; Simon Lambert; Josh MacDonald; Broc Nicol [G]; Theo Pijper 6.02; Jack Thomas [G]; R/R for Thomas Jørgensen

The action gets underway at 6.30pm this evening
