Kent Cricket has announced its 2024 Men’s First Second XI fixtures, further adding to the excitement of the coming season – with matches across all formats taking place at a variety of Kent Cricket venues this year.

Kent Second XI will begin their season with a Second XI Championship match against Essex Second XI at The County Ground, Beckenham from Monday 8 April – one of three home Second XI Championship matches held across both Beckenham and Polo Farm in Canterbury.

The Nevill Ground in Tunbridge Wells will host four Second XI T20 clashes in May & June, including an exciting T20 Double Header against Hampshire Second XI at the Nevill on Monday 10 June, with matches taking place at 11:00 & 15:00.

Entry to all Kent Second XI fixtures held at Kent Cricket venues remains free to all, with no prior booking needed to attend.

Kent’s Second XI fixtures will provide chances for up-and-coming cricketers in Kent to improve their game, with players from the Kent Cricket Talent Pathway & standout players from the Kent Leagues given opportunities to impress at a Men’s county level.

Second XI fixtures may also be used to prepare first-team players for upcoming tournaments in 2024.

Ahead of the start of the Metro Bank One Day Cup for Kent Men’s First XI, the Second XI will take on Zimbabwe A in a 50-over showcase at Beckenham on Tuesday 16 July from 11:00, before another 50-over friendly against Essex Second XI in Metropolitan Kent on Thursday 18 July.

Kent Second XI’s final match of the season will be within a combined Kent/Essex side to take on Surrey Second XI in a Second XI Championship match at Billericay CC.

Please note, the Second XI schedule is subject to change.
