K Sports vs Canterbury City – Preview

After Canterbury City’s stunning demolition of Thamesmead in their first game, it’s sure to be a gigantic battle on Monday as after yesterday’s results, K Sports now sit second in the early table with City – having played just the once, now third.

In fact, Sports have struck two wins from their two games so far, firstly defeating Meridian VP 5-2 away on the opening day and then also getting all three points at home to Thamesmead today, but this time by a much narrower 4-3 margin, with striker Max Morgan bagging all four goals and taking him to five already for the season.

City have got plenty of firepower of their own however and whilst no doubt being wary of Sports’ sudden attacking prowess, they’ll also be aware that as well as scoring nine, Sports have also conceded five goals in those first two games as well, so there’s every possibility of another busy night for the scorers over at Cobdown on Monday!

There’s also plenty of history between the  two clubs who have met on a good many occasions dating back to the late 1940’s – with last season’s results by far the greatest of contrasts when in the home fixture early in the season City were embarrassed by an 0-8 scoreline and yet, towards the end of the season, after Dan and his team had taken over and instilled some desperately needed order to the chaos, City went away and extracted some sort of revenge with a fine 5-1 victory.

With the first home game of the season just around the corner, it would be great to get some good away support as well to cheer the team on.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and will be played at:

Cobdown, Station Road, Ditton, Aylesford, Kent, ME20 6AU
