Junior Dynamos remain unbeaten

Invicta Junior Dynamos travelled to the Isle of Wight on Sunday continuing the autumn away trips that have seen them undefeated on the road so far.Invicta Junior Dynamos2

Knowing the Junior Raiders style of play on their small ice pad the and having had to fight so hard at S&G on a similar size rink the Junior Dynamos had prepared for a hard game.

“Let’s play Hockey”

1st period and game on! Invicta Captain Vojtech Jirasek led out his team and began the game with his line mates of Artyom and Lucy with Stewart and Michael O in defence and Joao in between the pipes. Fly change and Jake Stedman came on, received the puck, beat two men and shot on net but it was saved by the Jr Raiders fine netty but the intent was shown by the hungry Invicta team.

Seconds later when joined by his line mates Jake Stedman nailed the opener assisted by James and Will on 1.50 in a fine passing manoeuvre but the Raiders bounced with back on the next shift with an assisted goal on 3.01 drawing the game level. Knowing looks on the bench confirming this was going to be a hard game. Second line back out ever looking for an opening nailed a replica of their first goal this time James netting off assists by Jake S and Will showing hard work and passing pays off. The rest of the period played out without a further goal but the Jr Dynamos outshot the Raiders 14 -4.

2nd period Vojtech stepped up early assisted by Artyom to extend the lead in a well worked goal on 18.54 then Jake S drew back the puck from a face off for Alix to fire a screamer into the net from point on 25.38 shorthanded. 4-1 now the lead and Invicta had stamped their authority on the game leading period shots 15-3, only 2 on Invicta net minder Joao and 1 on Kiwi as he came in mid period to replace Joao.

3rd period Captain Vojtech again opened up the Raiders after taking a fine pass from girl hero Lucy Gruber who had worked so hard winning and skating the puck to the blue line on 31.45. Power play goal now born from defence and finished by defence as Voijtech fed Michael O who passed “D to D” on the blue line for Alix to nail long range once again. Jake Stedman wrapped up proceedings covering in D and taking a pass from his usual forward mates of James and Will to slap home a big shot on 41.41.

2 more points for this unbeaten Invicta team away from home and who now go top of the league with 5 wins from 5 games. Good game from all involved including Cameron Peachey and Jake Taylor who cut it with the rest of them. Man of the match for Cap Vojtech and spirit of the game to Lucy who looks to be loving hockey with her team.
