Anthony Johnson was crowed the 2026 Bemsee Helmet City.co.uk Ltd MRO Supersport 600 Championship at the penultimate round at Snetterton.

It was another excellent weekend for the now champion, taking victory in race one on Saturday, and followed that up with victory in both races on Sunday.

He brings us up to date with his race weekend and reflects on becoming the 2026 champion.

After pole in qualifying we threw a fresh set of tyres in for Race One on Saturday. Running a stock engine it’s always important to get a good start at Snetterton. I managed the hole shot into turn one and just focused on stringing some consistent laps together. We had very little track time on Friday due to the weather so that was the plan. Crossed the line P1 with a 5.6 second gap.

And with that – we secured the Bemsee Helmet City.co.uk Ltd MRO Supersport 600 Championship 🥳

Unbelievable really, considering where we were with the Triumph when I first rode it last year. It’s been challenging at times with the setup this season but Perry Leask at Leask Racing – Precision Motorcycle Suspension has been an absolute godsend in getting the bike to where it is now. Huge thank you to him.

Race Two on Sunday, really gutted for my pal and main rival Sam Hirst Racing who unfortunately tucked the front going into turn one. But Henry Ross sure did give me a run for my money for the rest of the race – it’s great to see him back after his wrist surgery, he’s getting back to his old self on a proper bike! He came past in the early laps and we battled right to the finish line. He kept me honest all the way. Crossed the line P1 – really enjoyed that one.

Race Three was a pretty strange one. Felt better on the bike overall but the grip levels had dropped off a lot which made for a really odd sensation. Just rode to a comfortable limit, didn’t want to push my luck too much, and thankfully crossed the line P1. A second slower than Race two but I’ll take it.

I want to specifically thank the group of people who all chipped in for an extra set of tyres this weekend – you know who you are and I genuinely cannot thank you enough. Having a fresh set for qualifying really did make a big difference.
