Jewiss geared up for Donington Park

After a two-week break from racing, 16-year-old Kiern Jewiss is ready for the next round of the BRDC Formula 3 championship as Donington Park plays host to the UK’s premier single-seater series this weekend.

Reigning FIA British Formula 4 champion Kiern has had a mixed start to his 2019 campaign. While his pace has been strong enough to be battling at the top, and his excellent race-craft has been evident, a series of unfortunate incidents have meant that Kiern’s results have not replicated his performances. Nonetheless, the FM Conway-sponsored driver is ready to come back strong at Donington.

Facing the BRDC Super Star this weekend is the 2.5-mile circuit, which will mark the first out of two trips to Donington Park this year. Kiern is no stranger to success at Donington – it’s the track where he scored his first single-seater victory in British F4 last year. He went on to make another trip to the rostrum in race three too – making the circuit a firm favourite for the Morgan Bros-sponsored driver.

Qualifying will begin at 11:20 on Saturday, with the first race to follow at 14:35 that afternoon. On Sunday, race two is at 10:35 before race three gets underway at 16:00. All of Sunday’s action will be streamed live via the British F3 website.

“I’ve had two weeks away from the track and now I’m hoping that everything comes together at Donington for a good result,” Kiern said ahead of the weekend.

“It has been disappointing with the run of bad luck, but we know the pace is there which is the most important thing and now I’m very focused on getting some silverware in the races this weekend. The team has been excellent and we are certainly owed a good result!”
