It was a four point weekend for the Invicta Dynamos after thrashing the London Raiders 6-1 in the league on Sunday night.

Kevin Parrish’s side went into the encounter in Gillingham on the back of a morale boosting 5-4 win at Streatham Redskins the night before, but had to take to the ice without captain Nicky Lewis who was nursing a hamstring injury.

With so much to play for and the home support in full voice, it couldn’t have been a better start as the Dynamos raced into the lead as early as the 2nd minute with Joshua Condren scoring his first goal for the club.

Despite peppering the Raiders goal, the Dynamos weren’t able to add to their tally going into the first break, whilst home netminder Damian King was on top of everything that came his way.

The second period saw some lovely flowing ice hockey as the game went end to end and it took just thirteen seconds on the clock for the Dynamos to double their advantage as Steve Osman got on the scoresheet.

With Elliott Dewey off the ice being looked after having received a puck to his face, the Dynamos stretched their lead ever further in the 26th minute as import Ondrej Zosiak blasted home.

The Raiders clawed their way back into the game in the 33rd minute as Liam Chong was set up nicely by former Dynamos import Michal Oravec and buried the puck past the unsighted King.

Barely thirty seconds later though and the Dynamos restored their three goal lead with Eriks Ozollapa blasting home to make it 4-1.

That was the way it was to stay going into the final twenty minutes and again it was the Dynamos that started the final period the better and they were rewarded in the 43rd minute as Osman grabbed his second of the night.

As shots rained in on the London goal, the Dynamos made it 6-1 in the 46th minute as Bailey Wootton capped a fine display by firing past the stranded Michael Gray.

It proved to be the final goal of the night and much to the delight of the home faithful, they witnessed their side pick up two more vital points.

The win sees the Dynamos climb to fifth in the NIHL South, just six points behind league leaders Chelmsford Chieftains with two games in hand.

Next weekend, Kevin Parrish’s side make the trip west on Saturday night to face the Oxford City Stars before returning to Gillingham on Sunday night to take on Milton Keynes Thunder.
