The 21 year old from Colchester has impressed in recent weeks, taking 5 for 99 in first innings of the tour match against Australia at Canterbury and following that up with three wickets in the County Championship game against Surrey at The Oval in the past week.

Fresh from having taken 3 for 30 in his Natwest T20 Blast debut against Glamorgan at Tunbridge Wells on Friday night, Hunn is hoping he can keep his place in the side on a regular basis:

“I was feeling good at the start of the year and was disappointed to miss out earlier in the season, but it’s one of those things and I had to just keep my head down and keep working.”

“It’s nice to now have a place in the first team and it’s going ok at the moment.”

“My target is to get into the T20 Quarter Final side, but I wanted to be playing week in, week out, whether it be in the Championship or One Day games.”

“Matt Coles was rested for this last game and that gave me the opportunity and I’ve got to take the chances when they come my way.”

Despite the one run loss to Glamorgan on Friday night, Hunn believes there were positives to take from the match and it may well serve as a wake up call to the Spitfires in the long run:

“You’re always learning whether you win or lose games. All the lads are disappointed, but it will be a massive learning curve and we need to make sure we execute our skills better in the next game.”

“It was disappointing to lose that game in the end. It wasn’t the result we wanted, but we are through and that’s the main thing.”

“I was slightly disappointed with my last over and I didn’t execute a couple of balls as I wanted to, but overall I am very pleased as I was very nervous before the game.”

Hunn has been named in the County Championship side that will face Essex at Tunbridge Wells beginning on Sunday and he’s hoping he can continue to take wickets for the side:

“All the boys know how disappointing we have been in the four day stuff, but hopefully we can pick it up and get a win in this game.”

Hunn keeps his place in the side whilst fit again Rob Key replaces Adam Ball at number three with Mitch Claydon coming back in for the rested Matt Coles.

Kent side: Denly, Bell-Drummond, Key, Northeast, Harmison, Stevens, Billings, Haggett, Tredwell, Claydon, Hunn.
