Ten man Charlton had to come from behind to snatch a draw in the Under-21 clash at Ipswich on Monday afternoon.

The Addicks are now unbeaten in 14 games, winning 12 of them.

Dimitar Mitov was shown a straight red after an hour for bringing an Ipswich player down on the edge of the box.

Brandon Hanlan converted a Karlan Ahearne-Grant cross after 50 minutes, the Tractor Boys equalised a minute later, and took the lead five minutes from time.

Mikhail Kennedy levelled in stoppage time to keep Charlton’s unbeaten run going.

Charlton: Mitov; Barnes, Staunton, Thomas, Yao; Dijksteel, Kelly, Aribo; Ahearne-Grant, Hanlan, Kennedy.

Subs: Prall, Konsa, Assiana, Bone, Lapslie.

Goals: Hanlan 50, Kennedy 90.

Sent Off: Mitov 60.

Ipswich: Henly; Emmanuel, Feely, McDonnell, Robinson; Kenlock, Hammond, Hickey, Alabi; McLoughlin, Henshall.

Subs: Cole, Gulbrandsen, McKendry, Ford.

Referee: David Burnham.

A scan on Jordan Cousins’ knee on Sunday gave the Addicks a much needed boost. Though Cousins will sit out Tuesday’s match at Huddersfield, he should be available for the game at Hull.

Karel Fraeye has a quick opportunity to get Saturday’s debacle at Colchester out of the system on Tuesday.

Huddersfield have been in better form since David Wagner took over in the hot seat. Wagner plays a high pressing game, and the Terriers will start quickly.

Fraeye will still be without Alou Diarra, but Johhnie Jackson is fit to return, and Tareiq Holmes-Dennis is available again after serving his ban.

Karlan Ahearne-Grant played in Monday’s Under-21 game at Ipswich, so he will not be involved.

Conversely, Josh Umerah was not in the Under-21 squad on Monday, so could be involved at the John Smith’s.

Nick Pope had a good game at Colchester, but Stephen Henderson will return in goal.

Chris Solly will also return, and Harry Lennon may partner Roger Johnson in the heart of the defence. Morgan Fox is likely to complete the back line.

Jackson will probably partner Diego Poyet as the holding midfield duo. The attacking midfield trio could be Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Ricardo Vaz Te and Callum Harriott. Simon Makienok could be the front runner.

Charlton could look like this:

Henderson; Solly, Johnson, Lennon, Fox; Poyet, Jackson; Gudmundsson, Vaz Te, Harriott; Makienok.

Subs: Pope, Holmes-Dennis, Sarr, Williams, Moussa, Ceballos, Ghoochannejhad.

The referee will be Geoff Eltringham from Tyne& Wear.

This is a pivotal game for the Addicks, it is hard to see how Fraeye could survive if his team lose this match.

The small band of Charlton fans will travel more in hope than expectation, hopefully their journey will be worthwhile.
