Holmesdale v Fisher preview
Holmesdale v Fisher preview

Saturday afternoon sees an intriguing game at Oakley Road in Bromley Common where Holmesdale take on Fisher in the SCEFL Division One.

With both sides in decent form near the top of the table a win is vital for them to keep in touch with the top two of K Sports and Punjab Utd.

Dale have been without a game for two weeks, but manager Lee Roots will have his side well prepared for this one and be looking to build on the 2-1 win over Phoenix Sports Reserves at the end of December.

The Fish recorded a 2-0 win over Erith & Belvedere last Saturday taking them up to third in the table with 44 points from 20 played, while Holmesdale sit six places behind their visitors with 31 points from 21 matches.

Under manager Dean Harrison, Fisher now seem to have settled into life in Division One after last season’s relegation and look set to launch a push to return back to the SCEFL Premier Division at the first time of asking.

When the two sides met earlier in the season the game finished 3-3 and this one should be as closely contested.

With Bromley away at Blyth Spartans and Cray Wands in Guernsey the club should get a decent gate for this one, with local football fans looking for a competitive fixture between two good sides adding to the regulars and a good travelling support following the visitors from Rotherhithe.
