Holmesdale v Chatham Town preview

Holmesdale return to SCEFL Premier Division action at Oakley Road on Saturday afternoon when they entertain free scoring league leaders Chatham Town.

Dale were in SCEFL action on Tuesday night when they travelled to Bearsted losing 1-0, the result leaving Lee Roots’ team in thirteenth with 31 points from 23 league matches played.

In their last home game The Dalers beat Tunbridge Wells 3-0 in the League Cup with two goals from Ruel Powell-Downey and one from Kameiko Pope-Campbell to secure a place in the quarter finals.

Chatham have had a great season so far winning 21 of their league matches played and only losing twice. Last weekend they won 6-0 away at K Sports, Dan Bradshaw scoring a hattrick along with goals from Jordan Robins, Laken Osideku and Andy Pugh.

The victory keeping The Chats top of the table with 65 points from 25 league matches played, three points in front of Sheppey Utd, and then on Tuesday night The Chats won 6-1 at home to Rochester United in the SCEFL League Cup, Osideku notching a hatrick this time along with goals from Matt Bodkin, Michael Dalton & Rhys Bartlett to progress to the final eight.

When the sides met at The Bauvill Stadium in September, Chatham won 3-0, Dan Bradshaw scoring twice with one from Jack Evans to secure all the points for Kevin Hake’s side, watched by an impressive crowd of 321.

This will be a tough test for Dale as they look to get back to winning ways and move back up to the top half of the table, while Chatham will be aiming to keep their title challenge on track and maintain their high scoring run in front of their large travelling support.

Entrance for the game at Oakley Road is £8 for adults and £5 for concessions, with a printed programme at £2, kick off 3pm.
