Holcombe Hockey Club have confirmed the signing of Scotland international Ali Douglas.

Douglas becomes Holcs’ fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Tom Moorhouse, Ellis Robson and Dom Dixon.

He has three goals in 16 caps for Scotland and was part of the side that won the Nations Cup 2 alongside Holcombe and Scotland captain Rob Field earlier this year.

Douglas, 20, is also part of the Great Britain Elite Development Programme (EDP) squad.

He has previously worked with Head Coach Kwan Browne at Southgate, helping the side to a Top Six finish in their first season back in the Premier Division before forming a key part of last season’s team, which secured survival in Phase Three.

On joining the club, Douglas said: “I’m really excited to be joining Holcombe for next season, I’m looking forward to working with Kwan and the team and getting to know everyone around the club.

“I can’t wait to get started!”

Browne added: “Ali brings more than an impressive work ethic and skill to the pitch.

“His enthusiasm for the game and positive attitude make him a perfect fit for our club.

“We’re sure that his performance will not only elevate our performance but also enrich our team spirit.

“We are all looking forward to working with Ali next season.”
