Holcombe Hockey Club have confirmed the signing of Alex Chihota, a current member of the Great Britain Elite Development Programme (EDP) squad.

Chihota, 20, was named Player of the Tournament at the Sultan of Johor Cup in October, where Great Britain won for the fourth time in 13 editions.
He also scored the equaliser in the final as Great Britain came back from 2-0 down against Australia to win 3-2 and take gold.
Chihota debuted for both England and Great Britain under-21s in 2022 and has 26 caps across the two teams at that age level, with the one aforementioned goal to his name, also forming part of the 2022 Sultan of Johor Cup side which won bronze.
Chihota played alongside summer addition Tom Moorhouse and Felix Tully at last summer’s under-21 European Championship.
The former Loughborough Students man also won three caps and scored once for England under-16s.
Chihota also played alongside fellow new signings Ellis Robson and Moorhouse at Loughborough last season as they finished second in Division One North.
His arrival follows those of Robson and Moorhouse, as well as the signings of Dom Dixon, Ali Douglas, Mikey Royden-Turner and Trevor de Lora.
On joining the club, he said: “I’m really excited about joining Holcombe.
“I can’t wait to get started and help the club achieve its goals.”
Head Coach and Director of Hockey Kwan Browne added: “Alex brings an incredible amount of speed, power and skill to the pitch.
“With Alex on board, we’re excited to see how his strengths will elevate our game.
“His ability to create goalscoring opportunities is something we can’t wait to see in action.”
We can’t wait to see you in the red and black, Alex – welcome to the club!
