Hill returns at Knockhill

Having been forced to sit out the last round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, defending champion Jake Hill returns this weekend at Knockhill.

He will be looking to make up for the three races that he missed last time out at Croft, as he gets behind the wheel of his BMW.

Hill and the team heads to the fan favourite Knockhill Racing Circuit this week as they prepare to do battle once again around the 1.27-mile circuit in Fife, just north of Edinburgh. The track is one of the shortest on the calendar, as well as one of the most challenging and with its narrow and undulating layout, its unique character is loved by fans and racers alike.

The circuit has been a happy hunting ground for the team and their driver, Jake Hill, with it being the venue for his first-ever BTCC victory in 2019, before he finished on the podium in 2020 and 2021. In recent years, the circuit has seen some of Jake and the team’s most accomplished performances.

In 2022, he recorded pole position, one victory and two second-place finishes to score the highest race weekend points tally for any driver that season. The Kent-based driver also added a further three victories to his collection in 2023 and 2024, with the team looking to take inspiration from that impressive form this weekend.

This weekend, Jake and the team will once again be carefully managing his TOCA Turbo Boost (TTB) deployment. With him now sitting seventh in the drivers’ standings, Jake will now have 13 seconds of TTB available per lap in qualifying—deployable only above 125 kph—and will now be permitted 11 laps of hybrid usage in the opening 24-lap race on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, Hill said: “After being ruled out of the last round with illness, I am more determined than ever to get back behind the wheel at Knockhill.

“It was difficult to watch from the sidelines, but the support of all our partners trackside was fantastic to see. Knockhill is a firm favourite of mine, with plenty of fond memories going back all the way to 2019!

“We will be giving it everything as a team to get back to the front of the pack and fighting for the victories and podiums we deserve.”
