Hill heads to happy hunting ground

Jake Hill is back on track this weekend and he is heading to what has been a happy hunting ground for him this season.

He will be back on track with Era Motorsport as they head to the newest addition to the 24H Series calendar, the Michelin 12H Nürburgring, for the penultimate round of the 2026 24H Series European Series Championship.

Held on the Nürburgring Grand-Prix-Strecke circuit from 3–5 July, the event marks the series’ first visit to the legendary German venue.

After earning a GT3 Pro-Am podium at the Michelin 12H Paul Ricard in the debut outing for the team’s new Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, Era Motorsport looks to build on that momentum at the 5.148-km (3.199-mile), 16-turn Grand Prix circuit.

While this marks the first visit to the Nürburgring for the 24H Series, it is far from unfamiliar territory for Era Motorsport or several members of the driver lineup. Oliver Bryant previously competed at the circuit in Blancpain Endurance Series GT3 machinery, while Ryan Dalziel raced there in FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 competition. Jake Hill also brings Nürburgring experience, having previously raced on the Grand Prix circuit in historic competition before more recently contesting the Nürburgring 24 Hours on the Nordschleife.

The trio will once again be joined by two-time Rolex 24 at Daytona winner Dwight Merriman, as the four drivers share duties aboard the No. 81 Era Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.

Two days of optional testing precede the official race weekend, which begins Friday with a two-hour Free Practice session at 11:45, followed by GT3 qualifying from 16:35–17:30. Racing begins at 12:00 on Saturday for the opening six-hour segment before concluding with the final six hours at the same time on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, Hill said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back in the Era Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, especially after the strong result we had at Paul Ricard.

“The whole team did a fantastic job there, and while we just missed out on the overall podium, to come away with a class podium felt like a real achievement for all of us. The Nürburgring is obviously best known for the Nordschleife, but the Grand Prix circuit is still a really cool track to drive.

“I’ve had quite a lot of Nürburgring experience this year across both the GP circuit and the Nordschleife, hopefully that will help us hit the ground running during Thursday’s test and put us in a strong position for the weekend.”
