MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square’s Jake Hill heads North to the challenging 2.13 miles of Croft, near Darlington in North Yorkshire, the circuit where he made a winning British Touring Car Championship debut with Motorbase Performance back in 2013.

The Kent-based squad had given Hill his first taste of their BTCC Ford Focus at the end of 2012, then when regular racer Liam Griffin was unavailable, team principle David Bartrum gave the 19 year-old Hill his dream debut, resulting in a superb Win in the Jack Sears Trophy in his first ever BTCC race.

“We had nothing lined up in 2013 – I hadn’t raced at all – so to get the chance to make my BTCC debut, and at one of my favourite circuits, was just incredible. I felt so at home with the team, and had a brilliant run to win my class. I was on the podium with Turkington, Shedden and Neal, I just couldn’t believe it! It’s amazing that  things have come full-circle and I am racing a Motorbase Ford Focus now, so you never know, maybe it’s time for another Win!

Hill lies 4th overall after a string of strong results so far, including five podium finishes, with his best result of the season so far at Thruxton last time out, finishing 2nd behind Josh Cook.

“Last year here at Croft I qualified on the front row, and finished on Josh’s tail in 2nd, then 3rd in race two. I will be going all-out to try and secure another strong qualifying position, and am certainly aiming for more podiums. We are definitely in the championship fight, so let’s keep on doing what we’re doing”

Practice as usual takes place on Saturday morning (18th) with qualifying live on line at itv.com/btcc at 2.45pm, with rounds 19, 20 and 21 shown live on ITV4HD at 12.05pm, 2.35pm and the final, 15 lap race at 5.05pm.

“I won my first ever race in Ginetta Juniors here in 2009 too…this is one of my absolute favourite circuits, so can’t wait!”
