On Tuesday evening, Welling United make the short trip to Hashtag United in Aveley for an Isthmian League Premier Division fixture.

Following their disappointing defeat at Carshalton Athletic on Saturday, they will need to bounce back quickly. They were the better team in the first half but fell behind before the break as a result of a sloppy piece of defending.
Logan Dobbs levelled on the hour mark but Welling went back behind again with sixteen minutes remaining when conceding a needless penalty. In the last minute of regulation time, the Wings should have had a spot kick of their own when John Ufuah was hauled down by Sanchez Ming, but a free kick was awarded mysteriously to the hosts.
For that match, Welling only had fourteen players available and two of the three substitutes weren’t fully fit. Scott Simmons will complete his three match suspension on Tuesday so will definitely still be out. It may be too soon for Greg Cundle to return following the injury that he sustained against Ramsgate and both Tom Leahy and Bright Siaw remain doubtful. Christian Scott missed the Carshalton match with an illness so Lee Martin will be hoping that he is able to return.
Martin will also hope that he can get a new signing or two over the line to supplement his squad, and that there are no further injuries to report following Saturday’s defeat.
While Welling were having a disappointing afternoon, Hashtag were playing out a one-one draw at home to Whitehawk. They went behind in the thirty-sixth minute but levelled six minutes later through a goal by Nathan Smith.
Drawing that game took them up to seventeenth in the league table with eight points from nine matches while Welling are two places behind on six points. At home Hashtag have drawn two and lost two with their victories coming on the road at Lewes and Cray Valley PM.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two clubs who are both at the wrong end of the table so both will be wanting to leave the ground with a morale boosting victory.
