Harrogate Town vs Bromley preview

Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday evening when they travel up to Yorkshire to face high flying Harrogate Town for a game to be broadcast live on BT Sport.

The Ravens slipped to 12th in the table on Saturday following a 1-0 home defeat by Sutton United, their tenth match without a win and third without scoring, having picked up just four points this year.

The loss left manager Neil Smith cursing his teams profligacy in front of goal, with is side now on 51 points from 37 league games played, but still only three points off the top seven.

When the sides met at Hayes Lane in November Bromley came back from three down to draw 3-3 with goals from Reeco Fairchild-Hackett and a double from Chris Bush levelling up after Jack Emmett, Brendan Kiernan and Jack Muldoon had put Harrogate in front in the first half.

Simon Wheeler’s Harrogate Town are second in the table, five points behind Barrow, on a strong run of form having lost only once this year they have picked up 65points from 36 games. Last Saturday, Town won 3-2 away at AFC Fylde and on Tuesday they won 4-3 at Chesterfield with two goals from John Stead, plus one from George Thompson and Muldoon.

On their only previous visit to Wetherby Road in March 2019, Bromley lost 1-0 thanks to a 93rd minute penalty from Muldoon as Town went on to make the play offs in their debut National League season.

This will be a tough assignment for Bromley to try and turn their form around, but they have been boosted by the return of Adam Mekki this week. If they are to re-ignite their play off challenge then it needs to happen sooner rather than later and what better way than to take something off the league’s form team.
