Glebe 5-0 Crockenhill
Glebe 5-0 Crockenhill

With Crockenhill’s Wested unplayable Glebe were able to secure the 4G pitch at Bishop Justus School in  Bromley to host this game and get both sides back in action after a lengthy break due to postponements.Glebe

Glebe who usually play just up the road at Holmesdale FC were rewarded for their efforts with a crowd of over 100 for this match between the 11th placed hosts and bottom of the table Crocks.

The game kicked off in blustery conditions with Crockenhill making a promising start, but on their first attack Glebe took the lead on 4 minutes when Dan Akpoveta crossed for Rouchy Efambe to tap in from close range.

Crocks kept on battling, but even when preSsing they lacked a final ball to open up the home defence. Glebe finished the half on top and the visitors faded from their best spell of the game.Glebe2

Glebe started the second half on top Josh Froggatt had an effort saved, before he set up Dan Bennett to make it 2-0 who scrambled home from close range on 56 minutes.

For a while Crockenhill did have some good posession, but couldn’t find the killer touch in front of goal which has eluded them all season.

The home side made it three on 74 minutes when Bennett scored a fine curling effort from 25 yards out after a corner was partially cleared and Elyon Marshall Katung made it 4-0 soon after with a cool finish after a powerful run into the box.Glebe3

The final goal came on 83 minutes when Froggatt weaved his way through The Crocks defence and rolled the ball home for 5-0.

Sadly for Crockenhill it’s been a very tough season with 0 points from 15 league games and 92 goals conceded, on this evidence despite their character and fight it may be set to continue for a while.
