A Bromley side featuring several youngsters along with a few first teamers came out on top against their SCEFL Division One hosts in an entertaining game on a warm night in Chislehurst.

Bromley started the game pressing Glebe with Harry Osbourne firing wide early on and George Porter forcing three saves from Alfie George shooting from range.

Reece Prestedge played the holding midfield role spraying passes out to the wings or in to Tobi Sho Silva who held the ball up well. Tamer Bilal made a superb block to deny Sho Silva converting an Osbourne cross before Ryan Goulding had Glebe’s first chance of the half, only for Ravens keeper George Kamurasi clearing the danger.

Porter, Sho Silva and Aldo Arce were all just off target and Prestedge put a free kick narrowly wide, but just before the break Frazer Cronin nearly broke the deadlock for the home side flicking the ball just over the bar from the edge of the box.

Bromley fans were pleased to see Sam Long come on as sub for Glebe after his serious knee injury picked up when with The Ravens.

The current side came out looking more determined in the second half kicking down the slope, Arce & Prestedge both headed wide before Osbourne had a shot saved by George and Dave Martin’s return ball was back heeled wide by Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe.

Martin put another cross in for Sho Silva who fired just wide before Bromley finally scored on 62 minutes. Martin put in another good ball for Sho Silva who found the corner of the net from just inside the area.

With the Ravens now looking more confident Makhosini Ryan-Chanye crossed for Ogedi-Uzokwe to powerfully head home for 2-0.

Mass substitutions and the heat saw the game drift from that point, Glebe didn’t really manage a chance of note while Ogedi-Uzokwe was twice off target and Sam Afolabi had a shot saved late on.

None the less it was an enjoyable evening with Glebe making many new friends and standing up well to the test against a youthful yet strong and powerful Bromley side.
