Gillingham have snapped up Nottingham Forest striker Lamin Sillah on loan until the end of the League Two season.

The Gambian forward, who joined Forest in July 2025, will spend the duration of the 2026/27 campaign at the Kent side.

Sillah has scored in both of the B Team’s first two games of the season, including a fine goal to equalise against Gateshead in the National League Cup, where the 20-year-old also scored the winning penalty.

Having been a key part of the B Team since his arrival, Sillah will now gain valuable senior football experience as part of the next phase of his development journey.

The 20-year-old, who signed for Forest last summer on a three-year deal from Olympiacos, could go straight into the squad for Saturday’s home game against Northampton Town.

Sillah, a Gambian U20 international, began his career playing for Steve Biko FC before signing for the Greek side in 2024. He scored nine times and assisted five others in just 17 games in the U19 Super League before earning his move to the City Ground last summer.

He played three times for the club’s U21 side in the EFL Trophy last season. 

Speaking after signing his deal, he said: “It’s an historic club, a big club, I spoke to the manager and I got some positive things from him and that gave me confidence.”

“I feel it’s the right time for me [to go on loan]. Nottingham Forest have been really supportive, I have people down there helping me a lot.”

“I’m quick and I will give everything I have. I can’t wait, I feel great about it.”
