Gillingham made their second signing on transfer deadline day with the capture of Zech Obiero from Leyton Orient on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old Kenyan international joins Eli King through the doors at MEMS Priestfield Stadium, who signed from Cardiff earlier in the day.

Obiero, a central midfielder, could make his debut this Saturday in League Two when Gills head to Rochdale.

Zech has already featured for Orient five times this season, having also played for Tranmere on loan in 2025/26, making 13 appearances and scoring twice.

He has also enjoyed spells with Cheshunt and Chelmsford earlier in his career.
