Gillingham game called off

Gillingham’s scheduled Sky Bet League Two fixture at Cheltenham Town due to take place tonight has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

An inspection was carried out at 09:30am by EFL officials and, with no sign of the conditions improving, deemed the surface unplayable.

A new date for the fixture will be arranged in due course.

Gillingham will now turn their attention to Saturday’s clash against local rivals and league leaders Bromley who come to MEMS Priestfield in a rich vein of form.

Meanwhile, The Gills have been linked with a move for striker Ronan Hale with the Ross County forward attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Should Gillingham be able to land the talented 27 year old Northern Ireland international, he would be a great addition to a side that has struggled to score goals in recent seasons.
