Gillingham announce Nolan departure

Gillingham have announced that midfielder Jack Nolan has left the club by mutual consent on transfer deadline day.

The 24-year-old signed for the Gills last summer on a two-year deal and made 36 appearances, scoring one goal.

He had previously had a productive three-year stint with Accrington Stanley, scoring 18 goals in 80 appearances. Prior to that he had begun his career with Reading before signing for Walsall in January 2020.

Jack’s last appearance in a Gills shirt was in April, starting their Good Friday game at Cheltenham.

Nolan’s departure was widely expected having not featured in Gareth Ainsworth’s plans this season.

With Travis Akomeah and Jonny Smith having signed on loan and Garath McCleary putting pen to paper on a one year deal at MEMS Priestfield, it’s been a busy day at the Kent club.
