Gillingham 0-1 Barrow
Gillingham 0-1 Barrow

Barrow caused a first-round upset as they scored the only goal of the game late on to dump Gillingham out of the FA Cup.

Innes Cameron was the Barrow player who secured a place in the FA Cup second round for AFC Barrow with his injury time winner.

In the first half was mostly attritional with neither side able to break the deadlock.

There were chances at both ends with Robbie McKenzie and Lamin Sillah both registering shots on target and Ronan Hale going close twice.

But Barrow also went close on several occasions, with Ollie Wright making two good saves, including one on the stroke of half time to keep the scores level.

The second half was initially similarly cagey as neither side particularly dominated the initial exchanges.

Following a flurry of substitutions on both sides, chances started to come. Hale and Sheldon Kendall both had shots saved.

Wright was also called into action at the other end of the pitch, making a couple of smart saves of his own, including an outstanding diving stop to keep out a powerful header from Innes Cameron.

However, with extra time looking a certainty, Cameron found the net in the 92nd minute with a close-range effort to secure the win for the visitors.
