Kent Cricket have confirmed that right-arm seamer George Garrett has made the decision to retire from professional cricket at the conclusion of the 2025 season.

The 25-year-old came through the Warwickshire pathway from Under 14s level after previously playing age group cricket for Hertfordshire and made his first-class debut for the Bears in August 2019.
He joined Kent ahead of the 2024 season and took 39 wickets in 23 appearances for Kent across two summers.
He has decided to now retire from the sport and will take up a Law Conversion Course as he moves onto a new chapter.
On his decision to retire from professional cricket, Garrett said: “I’d like to thank everyone at Kent for giving me an opportunity, and a warm welcome – something I’ll always be grateful for.
“There are a lot of amazing people in the building, many of whom I now consider great friends. I have total faith in them all driving Kent back to where it belongs in the years to come.
“A special mention to Mark Dekker – one of the great men who gave me a shot when nobody else did.”
