Defender Sam Gale has been talking to the media ahead of Saturday’s trip to Crawley Town which is a massive game for both clubs.

The home side sacked Scott Lindsey this week and will look for a “new manager” bounce from rookie boss Colin Kazim-Richards as the Gills arrive on Saturday, whilst Gareth Ainsworth’s side travel having lost their last four.
Gale told us, “There’s no way of dressing things up for the weekend – we need to win!”
“Crawley, regardless of a change of manager, should be a team that with the ability we have in our squad, on paper we should be beating. We know that we will have great backing – it’s a nice “local” game, we know that we need to win, plain and simple, we need to put recent results right… it is as simple as that, three points are needed!”
“I think regardless of how old you are and how many games that you have played, everyone in that dressing room is hurting. We are not immune to what has been said, but at the end of the day we are all professional footballers and we all have pride!”
“We don’t want to lose – it hurts losing – it hurts being where we are! Obviously, everyone deals with it differently and the experience of the boys who have been through this before is massive to everyone; no one wants to lose, it’s been bothering everyone.”
“No one wants to lose or to be in this situation – it’s not a nice situation to be in, all we can do is to try and put it right starting Saturday.”
“It’s massive that we need some results before the end of the season – it’s massive! There is no dressing up that it hasn’t been good enough recently and as a whole this season and I think it’s fair to say that we have been underachieving with the ability that we have.”
“We expected more of ourselves – we are disappointed and hurting – just winning as many games before the end of the season is important to us to restore some pride within ourselves as a team to try and get the fan base back on side as quite rightly I think they are disappointed with us – and they have shown it!”
“There’s nothing wrong with that because at times it has been warranted so for ourselves, our own pride, the football club, we need to get back to winning ways.”
“They will have a new manager bounce on Saturday after getting a new boss and we know how tough it will be – they’re not a bad side Crawley. They brought a lot of players they enjoyed success within the past – they are not in good form, but neither are we.”
“So, we can’t take that for granted but we just have to go into Saturday and think that we are better than them and playing like that and try to have that psychological effect on the game.”
“We don’t know what to expect with the new manager – it’s his first time as a manager so there’s not much to go on so we have to go in with a clean slate and try to get the three points!”
