It was announced on Thursday evening that Neil Harris had resigned as Millwall manager.

He had legendary status at the Den as both a‎ player and manager. But there had been unrest amongst some Lions supporters of recent times.

Harris played a direct style, that was not universally popular. Some were demanding more finesse.

Cries of “Harris out” were apparenrtly heard at Luton on Wednesday evening. The situation is not dissimilar to the latter days of Alan Curbishley at The Valley.

One thing is for sure; Harris will be a tough act to follow.

“Lee Bowyer’s a couple of years older than me. He’s someone I call a close friend, a good guy, who’s doing a fantastic job and I’m not surprised, as he’s a fighter. He hasn’t been given an easy hand,”‎ said Scott Parker when asked about Lee Bowyer.

The pair clash at Craven Cottage on Saturday lunchtime when Parker’s Fulham entertain the Addicks.

Bowyer has a number of injury issues to assess before naming his team, but will have Tomer Hemed available again.

Charlton have had a‎ difficult run of games. Last week’s eye catching result against Leeds is sandwiched between three defeats.

Bowyer’s team could look something like this:

Phillips; Solly, Lockyer, Sarr, Oshilaga; Pratley, Cullen, Gallagher, Williams; Hemed, Leko.

Subs: Amos, Pearce, Field,Forster-Caskey, Oztumer, Aneke, Bonne.

The referee will‎ be Keith Stroud of Hampshire.

This is a game which Bowyer maybe satisfied to take a point from.

Charlton fans‎ heading to Craven Cottage should note that engineering works on the District Line. means there will be no service to or from Putney Bridge on Saturday.
