Jake Dixon had a frustrating weekend in the latest round of the Moto2 season from the Motorland Aragon Circuit for the eighth round of the season.

The circuit was baking hot and bathed in sunshine and this made tyre choice all the more important and Dixon went for soft tyres on race day, and perhaps that cost him.
Starting 14th, Jake had a decent start and held station on the first lap. Yet by lap three, he had dropped two places. It was clear the rider from Dover didn’t have the optimum feeling with his package which meant he struggled to make forward progress. But he still rode a consistent race and took important points for a 13th place finish.
Jake now sits fifth in the championship standings with 85 points to his name.

Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “I don’t really know what to say to be honest. It was a tough race and I didn’t have the feeling or the speed I needed to make decent progress forward.
“The result isn’t ideal, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying. I’m just trying to stay positive. We’re in the situation we’re in at the moment, so there’s no point in getting down.
“The truth is I didn’t feel particularly great with the bike this weekend. The good thing is we have a test in Barcelona in a few days and we need to get back toward the front, where we belong.
“Well done to Filip and his side of the box. He showed the Boscoscuro can be there, fighting at the front and we need to do better next time.”
