Forest Hill Park v SC Thamesmead preview

Tonight Forest Hill Park host SC Thamesmead at Ladywell Arena in a Southern Counties East Football League Division one match.

Tenth placed Forest Hill have won three and lost three so far, however, five of their six games have been away as they play at Ladywell Stadium and don’t have access to the ground until the athletics season finishes at the end of August.

Their one home game played ended in a one-nil victory against Canterbury City, courtesy of a goal by forty year old former league footballer Gavin Tomlin. Since then, they have lost against Lewisham Borough to a last minute goal, and two-nil on Saturday at Larkfield and New Hythe.

It has been a tough start to the season for Sporting Club Thamesmead, having picked up just one point from five games, a two-all draw at home to Larkfield and New Hythe. On Saturday they were thumped seven-one at home to Greenways after being level at one each after five minutes.

That was the second time that they have been hit for seven this season having started with a seven-nil defeat at home to Canterbury.

In the corresponding game in March last season, Sporting Club went ahead in the first minute, scored by Fred Agyemang. However, the hosts were three-one up by half time with goals scored by   Ismailia Doumbia, Arber Grosha and Kesna Clarke. Adeshola Onasanya added a fourth midway through the second half.

Whether anything can be taken from that is debatable as both sides are much changed this season, but with each wanting points, a well contested game can be anticipated.
