There will be a Division One team versus a Premier Division team when Forest Hill Park entertain Holmesdale in the quarter finals of the Southern Counties East Football League Challenge Cup on Wednesday evening.

At present, Forest Hill are second in Division One behind Canterbury City. However, they trail by just three points having played five games fewer. In their last outing, the Dons hosted the leaders and scored with three minutes remaining to claim what could be a decisive three points thanks to a goal by substitute Temi Alaka.
In their most recent match, the Dalers lost five-two at Bearsted and are one place outside the play-offs. They were three down at half time, and then four behind just after the hour mark. Louie Clark pulled one back, then Malachi Hudson converted a penalty, but they conceded again three minutes from full time to end a disappointing afternoon.
To get to this stage in the Challenge Cup, Forest Hill have already knocked out three Division one sides. It took penalties to get through the first round after drawing nil-nil at Tunbridge Wells and they followed up by beating Welling Town at home by the odd goal in three. Their goals were scored by Reece Barrett and Ulrich Fischer. In the third round goals by Georgi Steeds and Ed Mbango helped them to victory at Erith and Belvedere.
Having had a bye in the first round, Holmesdale visited Halls AFC in the second, and won two-one through goals by Nathaniel Murray and Mecca Samuels. In the third round, they were held to a goal-less draw at home to Rusthall before going through six-five on penalties.
Although there is a one league difference between the two clubs, it is unlikely to make a difference and it’s expected to be a very competitive encounter.
