Force’s Football Future Success!

Faversham Strike Force Football Club rewarded its under 15 squad at the club’s end of season presentation in recognition of completing the FA Junior Football Leaders Course and being part of the FA Football Futures Programme.

The FA Junior Football Leaders course provides a basic introduction to leadership skills required when involved in football.

The course introduces young leaders to four key areas including assisting football activity sessions, an introduction to refereeing, helping with a team and different football events.

The one day course which also covers Respect, promoting the game & developing the game requires students to complete an additional 4 volunteer hours with a local club or league.

The squad completed their volunteering at the Faversham Schools Tournament where the students refereed matches and carried out administration duties.

The Faversham Strike Force FC Club Manager praised the group by saying, “It is fantastic that the club has a new and bright generation of volunteers coming through and the squad showed a willingness to learn and commit to the development of the club”.

In addition to the course, the squad also completed The FA Mini Soccer Referee Course and achieved FA Football Futures certificates for completing 10 hours of volunteering which were presented by the world’s leading football freestyler, Mike Delaney.

Football Development Officer, Richard McHugh said “It’s fantastic to see Faversham Strike Force encouraging their players to volunteer in football. Whether these young leaders are hoping to go on to become coaches, referees or to volunteer in another capacity, the FA Junior Football Leaders Award is an ideal starting point and as members of the Kent FA Football Futures programme, we will now be able to ensure we continue to support them in the future”.
