Former England internationals and Gillingham players will be on show at Maidstone United’s ground on Friday night for a charity game.

The likes of Des Walker and Luther Blissett will be playing alongside the likes of former Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler and current Dover Athletic boss Nicky Forster for the Ex internationals and pros XI, whilst the Soccer Elite FA and Maidstone United XI will be coached by former Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller.

Their side will include Maidstone United manager Jay Saunders and former Gillingham defender Roland Edge as the two sides go head to head for three charities – Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Teens Unite for Cancer and Heart of Kent Hospice.

Played on the all new 3G surface at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium, the game will kick off at 7:45pm with entry just £5 for adults and £2 concessions for under 11’s with all the proceeds split between the three charities.

Gates will be open from 6pm and fans are encouraged to get to the game early for what is surely set to be a showpiece event that will also see the likes of former Wimbledon keeper Dave Beasant, former Gillingham players Steve Lovell, Simon Osborn, Neil Shipperley, Richard Carpenter and Neil Smith on show.

Football fans will also be given a treat as former Gillingham and West Ham United coach Wally Downes is expected to put in an appearance for the International/pros XI, whilst former Tottenham Hotspur’s defender Stuart Nethercott is expected to play having had a loan spell at Maidstone United in the early 90’s.
