Playing each other for the fourth time this season, Fisher host Punjab United in a Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division play-off eliminator.

They first met at Punjab’s ground in Gravesend early in February with a place in the FA Vase Quarter Finals at stake. Having worked tirelessly to make the pitch playable, the club were rewarded when Chipie Sian’s Punjab team won two-nil. Jack Hopkins headed them ahead in the twenty-first minute, and Will Johnson-Cole also used his head to good effect four minutes later.
Three days later, they were again in opposition, this time at Fisher’s home in Rotherhithe. Although Hopkins gave the visitors an early lead, by the time that the match was quarter of an hour old, the Fish were ahead with Sha’mar Lawson and Armani-Jordan Martin on target. After the break, Tom Jones added a brace before Lorenzo Duncan rounded it off with a fifth.
Their third meeting was back in Gravesend two weeks ago and Punjab claimed the three points. Lee Bird gave them a half time lead, however, Flávio Jumo equalised eight minutes into the second period. Harry Ottaway restored Punjab’s lead five minutes later and they held out for three crucial points.
Finishing second in the table, Fisher have home advantage but Punjab have shown their endurance in playing four games in eight days to qualify for post season football and end the campaign just five points behind their hosts.
