First WSBK Points for Ray
First WSBK Points for Ray

Kent’s Brad Ray scored his first points finishes in the FIM World Superbike Championship in Spain last weekend.

A 13th place finish in race one at the flag meant he would net his first three points, this was increased by a point to four as he inherited 12th place after Danilo Petrucci was disqualified post race.

He was to then follow that up with a 15th place in the second feature race of the weekend after a battle with Loris Baz for the final points paying position.

Ray currently sits in 20th place with five points from his opening six races in the World Superbikes, as he only joined the season as the European rounds kicked off.

He will be looking to add to his points tally as he heads to the Emilia-Romagna round in Italy at the beginning of June.

Speaking after the race weekend, Ray said: “I’m pleased with the results we’ve scored this weekend at Barcelona, as we’ve continued to improve and have kept moving in the right direction.

“We only struggled in Superpole, where perhaps we could have earned a better position. From mid-race on, my race pace was very fast, similar to that of the top ten riders.

“The gap separating us from the frontrunners continues to get smaller and so we just have to continue working this way at Misano. I’m pleased with our progress and want to thank the entire team as they’ve done a fantastic job.”
