Thomas Merritt took his first every victory around Brands Hatch recently as he took part in the Puma Cup as a guest entrant.

He was invited to take part by Velocity Motorsport and was part of the Classic Sports Car Club Britannia event at Merritt’s home circuit, so the opportunity was too good for him to turn down.

Speaking about the weekend, he said: “It was fantastic to return to Brands Hatch for a guest spot in the latest round of the Puma Cup. The weekend brought intense conditions, with temperatures soaring above 30°C. Despite the heat, everything came together perfectly on track. I secured pole position and followed it up with a race victory — an achievement that makes this result even more special as it marks my first-ever win at my home circuit.

“The racing itself was incredibly competitive, particularly with the added challenge of multi-class competition and the strategic element of a mandatory pit stop. It made for a thrilling and rewarding experience from start to finish.
