Kent Cricket have announced that Harry Finch has extended his Kent contract until at least the end of the 2027 season.

The 30-year-old made his Kent debut during the 169th Canterbury Cricket Week back in 2021, as part of a makeshift squad due to the majority of Kent’s first-team squad requiring the self-isolate during the COVID Pandemic.
The right-hander made an instant impact against his former club Sussex in that match, scoring 115 in the second innings to help Kent’s young and inexperienced squad earn an unlikely draw.
Since then, Finch was a part of the Kent Spitfires side that won the 2022 One Day Cup, before signing full-time terms ahead of the 2023 season.
The wicketkeeper-batter has made 98 appearances for the Club across all formats, scoring 3,585 runs with five centuries. He was named Kent Men’s Player of the Year by the Club’s Members and supporters in 2024.
Finch currently averages 33.19 with the bat in all three forms of the domestic game. With the gloves, he has 132 dismissals to his name so far as a Kent cricketer.
On extending his time at Kent, Finch said: “I’m really happy to have extended my contract here at Kent. I’ve loved every minute of my time here so far. It feels like we’re starting to build something very exciting and I’m delighted to be a part of that.
“The squad under ‘Smokes’ [Adam Hollioake] is looking in a really good place for the coming years and everyone is desperate to get the Club back to winning ways and competing for trophies.
“Hopefully I can play an important part in that in all formats going forward and can’t wait to get the 2026 season going now.”
Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “Finchy has commanded a first-team place through hard work, dedication and determination. He has earnt his way to now being a multi-format player for Kent.
“He’s an extremely versatile batter able to bat across the order, and when he doesn’t have the gloves, he’s also an excellent outfielder, too.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Kent shirt for at least another two years as we look to push on in all formats.”
