Kent’s Mike Conway rejoined Action Express Racing and Whelen Motorsport to compete in the third round of the Michelin Endurance Cup coming home fifth.

Mike and the team got off to a solid start in the #31 Cadillac DPi-V.R, finishing the two practice sessions in 4th and 5th place respectively.

For qualifying, teammate Olivier Pla secured a 5th place starting position for the six-hour race.

Sunday’s race saw Mike, Olivier Pla, and Pipo Derani finish the six-hour event in 5th place – finishing just four seconds behind the race-winning Acura.

Speaking about the weekend, the Sevenoaks racer said:

“It’s always great to be racing with the AXR, Cadillac and Whelen Motorsport team over here in the States, so firstly a big thank you to them for having me this weekend.”

“Unfortunately for us, we didn’t have the pace to compete with the Acura’s this time around so fifth was the best we could do in the circumstances.”

“There’s one more race in the Endurance Cup, at Petit Le Mans, so we’ll be looking to end the season on a high in October!”

Mike’s next race with his Action Express Racing team will be the Endurance Cup season finale – Motul Petit Le Mans (October 1st).

Next up for Mike is round four of the FIA WEC season at Monza (10th July).
