At the end of the season, Loui Fazakerley looked to build the first squad that he could call his own.

FOOTBALL (WELLING AWAY)

Youngsters Sam Corne and Barney Williams were so impressive in the final month that Fazakerley signed them up on two year contracts. On the same day he also signed Joey Taylor from the Development Squad.

Other players to commit for another season include goalkeeper Michael McEntegart, Ben Jefford, Zac Fagan, Reece Harris, Tashan Adeyinka and Kieron St. Aimie. Fazakerley will also be in contention for a starting place when he has returned to full fitness.

Three newcomers have put pen to paper. Sahr Kabba was at Lincoln City last season but spent most of it on loan at Gloucester City. He is well known to Welling supporters from his days at Weston-super-Mare when he used to terrorise the Wings’ defence.

Ricky Wellard, who was in the AFC Wimbledon Conference Champions side, has joined from Sutton United and exciting young midfielder Xavier Vidal has moved from Dulwich Hamlet.

Departures, include Jamal Fyfield and Dominic Vose, both to Wrexham, Chris Bush to Lincoln, and Malachi Hudson to Kingstonian. Joe Healy has also been confirmed as having left the club.

Six pre-season fixtures have been announced. Charlton Athletic, Ebbsfleet United and a West Ham United XI will visit Park View Road. The Wings will travel to Erith Town, Maidstone United and Sutton United.

Former managers Jamie Day and Jody Brown have both accepted assistant manager roles. Day has teamed up with Adrian Pennock at Forest Green Rovers. Pennock was manager of Welling when Day was first at the club.

Meanwhile, Brown has taken up a similar role at Concord Rangers.
