Two sensational strikes from Harrison Pont spurred Faversham Town to a come from behind 5-1 drubbing of Hastings United.

As well as Pont’s brace either side of half time, Kieron Campbell’s low drive levelled the scores early on before top scorer Tashi-Jay Kwayie’s double rounded off a tremendous afternoon for Tommy Warrilow’s side – all after Lukas Franzen-Jones had swept the visitors into an early lead. Indeed, Jordan Mase’s late penalty miss – with the ball last seen flying high over the bar and heading towards Brenley Corner – really did sum-up a miserable afternoon for the visitors.
Yet it had all started so well for Hastings as they opened the scoring with their first real attack of the game as Franzen-Jones expertly steered home Fin Chapman’s ball from the right beyond keeper Mitch Beeney.
Indeed, for the Faversham stopper, this was to be one of his quieter games since arriving at the Aquatherm, as despite the great early start, the Sussex side were never really in the game.

The home side were denied an immediate leveller by an excellent save from Harry Howes to keep out Kwayie’s strike after Nathan Wood had roared down the Faversham right. Moments later from Wood’s quick thinking at a corner, the home side were level. Seeing Campbell free on the edge of the box, the ball was played directly to him and after side stepping a defender, Campbell’s low drive fizzed into the net.
Both sides then sort to edge in from and Franzen-Jones missed the best opportunity – dragging the ball well wide of Beeney’s left post when well placed. The home side had loud appeals for a penalty as Campbell went down in the box only for referee Finnegan to book the Faversham winger for simulation!
The home side edged in front on the stroke of half-time courtesy of a thunderous strike from Pont – Wood again was the provider with a great run in behind the defence and from his pull back, Pont picked his spot and thundered a drive beyond the despairing Howes and into the net.
That strike came three minutes into stoppage time, and three minutes into the second period, Pont struck again and the home side were never really troubled after that as they secured just their second win of 2026. Tommie Fagg was the creator this time and his low ball into the box was astutely guided home by Kwayie for his seventeenth goal of the season.
Hastings’s half time sub-Hayden Skerry had a shot beaten out by Beeney, but the visitors simply couldn’t get a firm foothold in the game as Faversham threatened to run riot.

Pont then struck again and the home side were never really troubled after that as Hastings visibly crumbled as the hosts secured just their second win of 2026. This time a long throw was helped on by Ben Gorham and Post arrived perfectly to scissor kick the ball into the top corner.
Fagg would have been disappointed that he didn’t make it five when shooting wide when well placed before the home side were literally gifted a fifth – Howes tried one touch too many to get away from Josh Ajayi, and as the ball ran to Fagg, the keepers lunge left referee Finnegan with no choice and Kwayie coolly rolled home number eighteen of the season from the spot.
Hastings themselves won a penalty soon after as Skerry was brought down by a clumsy Dexter Peter challenge, but Mase’s spot kick was still rising as it cleared Beeney’s cross bar.

Fagg went close to the goal that he deserved – curling an effort a yard wide after being played through – but it mattered not to a real five-star Faversham performance.
