Faversham Town made it four points in two games against Crowborough Athletic this week, though in truth they probably should and could have won both games, the draw on Saturday afternoon maintains their play-off ambitions.

The game started with Faversham on the attack and in the third minute a Tommy Fagg long throw into the area was cleared but straight to Fagg who from eighteen yards saw his volley hit the crossbar.

Crowborough took the lead in the eighth minute when a cross from the right went right across the area and Tom Pearson on the back post shot home from five yards.

Two minutes later and it could have been two when a long ball forward caught the Faversham defenders and Elliott Duncan latched on to it and from thirty yards his lob over Jacob Russell went just over the bar.

In the 12th minute a corner to the near post came to Matt Newman whose shot was turned around the post for another corner and from the resulting corner Faversham equalised the ball was delivered right under the bar and Ben Gorham rose and headed in.

In a rare attack from Crowborough in the 20th minute Jack Meyhew latched onto a clearance and his twenty-yard shot went just over the bar beating Russell. In the 31st minute Fagg retrieved the ball went forward and from eighteen yards his shot hit the cross bar.

Eleven minutes later Kieron Campbell on the left went on a mazy run and his shot from twenty yards was saved at the second attempt by Charlie Holmwood.

In the last minute of the half Crowborough should have taken the lead when a free kick twenty yards out by Jack Lyons saw Russell palm the ball away and Duncan reacted quickly but unfortunately for him, he shot over the bar when it seemed easier to score.

The second half saw Faversham control the game without really creating many chances and Crowborough relying on counter attacks which were few and far between.

In the 60th minute Josh Ajayi on the left went on a run into the area and his shot came back of the post which then saw the next shot blocked and the next one went over the bar.

Then in the 72nd minute a corner went to Newman and his volley from fifteen yards went over the bar. The rest of the half saw Faversham chuck the ball into the area hoping for something to happen but unfortunately the Crowborough defenders kept them out and when the full-time whistle went the Crowborough supporters were ecstatic with the point they had earned.
