FA Trophy Draw

The draw has been made for the First round of the Buildbase FA Trophy has taken place and give Kent’s remaining six clubs coming out possibly with four home ties and two travelling.

We’ll start with the three guaranteed home games for our sides, and they’re all ALL National League ties.

Last years runners up Bromley will welcome Sutton United to Hayes Lane which will mean three games against the FA Cup giantkillers in 18 days as the two sides meet home and away over the Christmas holidays.

Andy Hessenthalher’s Dover Athletic side will be hoping that their rapidly improving home League form as they welcome Havant and Waterlooville to Crabble. Havant though remember stuck five past Maidstone United in a League game at the weekend.

The third of our sides at home are Garry Hill’s Ebbsfleet United who will be hoping for a big gate when they host Peter Taylors Dagenham and Redbridge at Stonebridge Road – the Fleet of course the only Kent side to lift the Trophy, courtesy of Chris McPhee’s Wembley goal against Torquay United in 2007. If Dartford win Tuesdays Princes Park replay with Eastbourne Borough another National League South side awaits the winner Dorchester Town.

Definitely travelling will be Maidstone United to Garry Hill’s old club Woking. The National League South side beat Folkestone 2-0 at the weekend to get through and have won the Trophy a record three times although the last time was in 1997.

For our second National League South side facing a replay, it’ll be a case of travelling if they progress – if Welling can get past Dulwich in Wednesday’s replay, they will be on the road again – this time to either Chippenham Town or Wingate and Finchley.

Ties to be played weekend of December 15th.
