Floodlight football is back at the JM Clark Stadium on Tuesday evening when Erith Town entertain Sevenoaks Town in an Isthmian League South East Division encounter.

It will be the Dockers’ fourth successive home game, however, they have only played one league match and three in knockout competitions so far this season. Sevenoaks have played two in the league and one in the FA Cup.

On Saturday, Aaron Jeffery’s team beat Eastbourne Town in the FA Cup Preliminary Round having already won in a high scoring game at Steyning Town in the previous round. After a cagey first half against Eastbourne, George Goodwin put Erith ahead just before the hour mark. Harry Taylor added a brace and they cruised home.

As they have already been eliminated from the cup, the Oaks had no game on Saturday. Their last match was on the previous Tuesday when they visited AFC Croydon Athletic and lost two-one.

David Bremang opened the scoring for the hosts in the second minute and Greg Cundle added a second six minutes into the second half. Although Tamas Amgbaduba pulled one back with three minutes remaining, it was too little too late.

When the two teams met in Thamesmead in March, the spoils were shared. Carlos Richards put the Dockers ahead in the fourteenth minute, however, Warren-Hughes Mfula equalised ten minutes before half time. There was no further scoring and they finished with a point apiece.

So far this season Erith have won their only league game while Sevenoaks have picked up just one point from two matches. It’s very early days, though, and both teams will be keen to put down a marker.
