Erith Town v Fisher preview

Tonight, Erith Town host Fisher in a South East Counties Football League Premier Division fixture.

Both teams have made solid starts in their first six league games. The Dockers have won three and drawn one and lie in tenth place while Fisher have two victories and a draw and occupy fourteenth.

There was a degree of disappointment for both teams in their last league outings on Saturday. The Dockers raced into a two goal lead at Bearstead, courtesy of a brace from Steadman Callender. However, Jez Hammond pulled one back before half time and Tom Penfold levelled nidway through the second period after which, neither side could find a winner.

For Fisher, it was a tough to take from a difficult fixture. They took an early lead at Beckenham Town through Jacob Katonia and held it until there were twenty minutes remaining when Tunde Aderonmu levelled. It looked as though they were going to claim a hard earned point until they conceded an injury time penalty which Aderonmu converted.

There was no corresponding Erith Town against Fisher game last season due to the season being curtailed but the two teams shared a goal-less draw in the fixture at Fisher. The last meeting between the two at the Erith stadium was in December 2018. The Dockers held a half time lead courtesy of an Alex Nelson goal but Andy Mott levelled with twenty minutes remaining. There were just seven minutes left when Callender secured the three points by scoring the winner for Erith

Spectators wishing to attend should note that the match kicks off at 19:30 rather than the traditional time of fifteen minutes later and Erith recommends that anyone who has a smart phone downloads the ‘Track and Trace’ app to enable a swift entry through the gate.
