Although Michael Power put the Dockers ahead in the seventh minute, goals by James Bessey-Saldanha in the fifty-ninth minute and Peter Williams three minutes later ensured that the visitors went home with a well deserved three points.

Both teams came into the game on the back of good results, Erith having won at Welling United in the London Senior Cup, and the Bears having put eight past Erith and Belvedere.

Bessey-Saldanha found Williams in the first attack but he sliced over the angle before the Dockers went ahead. Jack Clark sent in a diagonal free kick and Power rose to head home.

Power then hit a shot from twenty yards that Scott Andrews saved well before Tommy Taylor, in for the injured Adam Molloy, made a comfortable save from Bearsted’s Noribek Bobomurodov.

Graeme Andrews was unable to head a deep Matt Garner free kick on target before Taylor saved from the impressive Lucian Scarlat.

Another dead ball delivery found Graeme Andrews but his floated header went over via the top of the crossbar before he again headed over after beating Taylor to a corner.

Bobomurodov shot just wide before Bessey-Saldanha shot over as the Bears finished the half on top.

Immediately after the interval, Steadman Callender got in behind but Scott Andrews made a brilliant save to keep his team from going two down and that proved to be a pivotal moment.

Scarlat went on a great run and pulled it back into the path of Bobomurodov but his first time shot went wide before the Bears levelled. Ryan Croucher found Bessey-Saldanha and he went on a long run. It looked as though he had missed the chance to get a shot away but at the last moment he managed to squeeze it home.

He then shot wide from the edge of the area before Bearsted went ahead. Garner out-muscled his man in midfield and sent Williams away to finish in style.

Ralique Lawrence tried a shot and it fell for Power but his shot was blocked then Callender headed over after Power flicked on Myles Keizer-Burrows’ long throw. However these were isolated moments as Bearsted contained their hosts well whilst looking dangerous on the break.

Another Scarlat run enabled him to get beyond Taylor McDonagh and he again found Bobomurodov but the player who had scored a hat-trick in his previous game was again unable to keep his shot down.

It mattered little though, as the Dockers were unable to create another opportunity and their unbeaten run came to an end.
