Erith & Belvedere v Haringey Borough preview

On Tuesday evening, Erith and Belvedere take a break from their league campaign when they entertain Haringey Borough in the quarter final of the London Senior Cup.

Both teams have taken a league scalp in their respective runs in this tournament this season. The Deres started with a thrilling three-two win against Charlton Athletic. Luke Rooney opened the scoring from the penalty spot two minutes before half time.

After the interval it appeared to be plain sailing for the Addicks when they went two one up but Tommy Brown levelled with seventeen minutes remaining. Then, deep into injury time, the Deres claimed victory when Reece Barrett bundled it home from two yards out.

They followed that up by knocking out Glebe at Foxbury on penalties after a goal-less draw.

Haringey started with a penalties shoot out success beating AFC Wimbledon after a one-all draw. They then travelled to holders Tooting and Mitcham where they won two-one.

The Borough are currently in mid-table in the isthmian Premier Division, two leagues above the Deres, so they will start as hot favourites. However, anything can happen in a one off cup tie and the hosts wont make it easy for them under the floodlights at Park View Road.
