Erith & Belvedere v Fisher preview

On Tuesday evening, Erith and Belvedere entertain Fisher in a Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division fixture.

Whilst Erith Town, Glebe and Sheppey United have had turns at the peak of the table, the Deres have been quietly going about their business and are bubbling under with eight wins and a draw from their ten league games so far. They have also had success in cup competitions which is partly the reason why they have played fewer league games than anyone else.

They visited Kennington on Saturday and picked up a hard earned two-one victory. Harvey Brand put them ahead however Gary Lockyer levelled for the hosts just before the break. The winner came just shy of the hour mark scored by Tyler Anderson-Parr who was welcomed back following an injury.

Fisher also had a good win on Saturday, beating fifth placed Deal Town three-nil in Rotherhithe. Lee Weemes put them ahead in the fifth minute but they had to wait until fifteen minutes from the end before adding a second through Christian Udo. Isaac Thompson added a third three minutes later.

Strangely, eight of their twelve league fixtures have been at home and all four of their victories have been recorded at their St Pauls Sports Ground home. When on their travels, they have picked up two points from their four games.
