Erith and Belvedere v Corinthian preview

The form club of the South East Counties Football League Premier Division, Corinthian, visit Erith and Belvedere in a Tuesday night fixture at Park View Road.

Whilst the Deres are still trying to find their feet following their promotion last season, Corinthian are looking to take full advantage of Beckenham Town’s recent blip and victory would take them to within a point of the league leaders.

They have won their last six games and nine out of their last ten games in the league since the end of September.

It has been less straightforward for Erith who have won one point from two games in 2020 since their impressive five-two win against Glebe at the end of December. They had a particularly hard time over the Halloween period losing eight-one at Bearsted and seven-one at Hollands and Blair. However, they have steadied the ship a little since and are fourth from bottom, seven points clear of Greenwich Borough.

As well as their six consecutive league wins, Corinthian have also won six cup games so all in all they have won twelve first team games on the spin. They are now in the last sixteen of the F.A, Vase, which equals their best ever run, and the semi final of the Kent Senior Cup.

Amongst those twelve wins was a one-nil cup victory over Erith and Belvedere with their league fixture at Gay Dawn still to come, however, although the visitors must be short odds favourites, Erith will be looking for the scalp that will consolidate their place in the league.
